Yes i played Blink 182. Was listening to their first full length album, Buddah. Not bad. A few good songs, a lot of "we really want to sound like the Decendents" as well.
I need to check out more of BRMC's new album as well as the Silversun Pickups.
I love Electrelane's "Two for Joy". Just something about its droning and how it builds to a crescendo.

I really think i should post my set list the day after my show and not wait until the weekend. The trouble is i get off work late during the week. I'm usually feeling pretty wiped after getting home and just feel like being lazy. So what i'm saying is that there probably were funny and insightful things i wanted to say about the show but after waiting several days i've either forgotten them or they just don't seem as important now. Oh well. Maybe next week.

OK so i finally got some fresh cds into my cd case (Voxtrot, Swearing at Motorists, Cloud Cult) and found a couple at the station (Frank Black, Cornershop).
Spent some time with Voxtot's new album Voxtrot. Turns out that i kinda like it. I definitely think their first 3 eps are better. But the album is good in its own way.
Was very surprised by how much i like the Rosebuds new album. Night of the Furies is a concept album about... well... the night of the Furies. I'm not sure how to classify it. Indie Pop... maybe. But the songs also have this disco/dance/electronica vibe. Different.. and i like it.
The Creeper Lagoon song reminded me of Cornershop. So because i can, i played some Cornershop (unfortunately the station's library didn't have When I Was Born for the Seventh Time so i couldn't play "Brimful of Asha").
Wanted to play the shorter/upbeat version of "Big Day Coming" but couldn't fit it in.

So when i decided to start actually writing about each show i figured i'd have something to say each week. Well this week.. not so much. I could complain that i didn't have time to switch out cds in my case because i spent Memorial Day weekend in Heber Springs. But lets just face facts: the reason it didn't do it is because i'm just lazy and a poor time manager.
I'm glad that i just said "darn" over the air, when i realized i was playing Spoon for the second time in an hour.
I can tell my Je Suis France story. Apparently they got their name when one of the band members was in a High School (possibly college) French class. One day there was a test. The band member observed a frat/jock type attempting to psyche himself up for the test by repeating "Je Suis France" (translation: I am France) over and over again. And a band name was born.
